MidCoast Medical Center Bellville joined the MidCoast Health System in 2023. MidCoast Medical Center Bellville is home to the only hospital in Austin County. Established in 1928 as a result of the oil boom in nearby Raccoon Bend, the original 4-bed hospital has evolved into a licensed 32-bed acute care hospital that has recently returned to a locally operated independent hospital and professional building.
